Dr. Craig Thompson, the leader of THE-ICE (International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education) ได้เดินทางมาพบ ดร.ปิยธิดา เพียรลุประสิทธิ์ คณบดีสำนักวิชาการจัดการ มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง พร้อมด้วยคณาจารย์ เจ้าหน้าที่ และนักศึกษา ในโอกาสนี้ Dr. Craig Thompson ได้แจ้งว่ามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงจะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงาน IPoE Forum 2025 ซึ่งเป็นงานประชุมสำคัญระดับนานาชาติในด้านการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับการท่องเที่ยว การโรงแรม และการจัดงาน (Tourism, Hospitality, and Events: TH&E) โดยงานจะจัดขึ้นที่มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง จังหวัดเชียงราย ระหว่างวันที่ 19–21 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2568
นอกจากนี้ Dr.Thompson ยังได้เผยแพร่รายงาน THE-ICE Executive Report ประจำปี 2024 ซึ่งเป็นการประเมินผลการดำเนินงานของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงจากผลการสำรวจความพึงพอใจของนักศึกษาทั่วโลก โดยรายงานได้กล่าวชื่นชมความก้าวหน้าในด้านการศึกษาของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง พร้อมทั้งชี้จุดที่สามารถพัฒนาเพิ่มเติมในอนาคต
ก่อนการประชุม Dr.Craig Thompson ได้เยี่ยมชมมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ได้แก่ อาคาร M-Square, M the Food project ห้องครัว, ห้องจำลองการบิน (Aviation Mock-up Room) และโรงแรมวนาเวศรีสอร์ท ซึ่งจะถูกใช้ในงาน IPoE Forum 2025 นอกจากนี้ยังเข้าร่วมการทัวร์รอบมหาวิทยาลัยที่นำโดยนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง โดยการทัวร์ได้เยี่ยมชมสถานที่สำคัญ เช่น สวนพฤกษศาสตร์ พิพิธภัณฑ์อารยธรรมลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง และศูนย์วัฒนธรรมจีน
On January 27, 2025, Dr. Craig Thompson, the leader of THE-ICE (International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education), visited the MFU School of Management (SoM).
During his visit, Dr. Thompson met with Dr. Piyatida Pianluprasidh, the Dean of SoM, along with faculty, staff, and students. He announced that MFU would host the IPoE Forum 2025, a major event in Tourism, Hospitality, and Events (TH&E) education. The forum will take place on the MFU Campus in Chiang Rai from October 19–21, 2025.
Dr. Thompson also shared THE-ICE’s Executive Report for 2024, which reviewed MFU’s performance based on a global student satisfaction survey. He praised the progress of MFU’s education while pointing out areas for future improvement.
Before the meeting, Dr. Thompson toured MFU’s facilities, including M-Square, M4Food Restaurant, the kitchen and Aviation Mock-up Room, and Wanawes Resort. These facilities will be used for the upcoming forum. He also joined a campus tour led by MFU student Miss Phyo Me Me Hla. The tour covered key attractions like the MFU Botanical Garden, the Mekong Civilization Museum, and the Chinese Center.
