The Online Global Classroom or OGC is an online lecture organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
and aims to maintain internationalization in the university during the pandemic situation. It is a project where UTM
faculties invite specialized international lecturers to deliver a topic to students.
Dr Noriza, an Associate Professor in Accounting and Finance at UTM, is leading a classroom project.
The professor invited Dr Wuri Handayani from Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia) and Ajarn Muhammad Syukur
from School of Management, Mae Fah Luang University. Their joint lecture brings a topic of “Selected Issues in
Management Accounting and Corporate Governance”. Specifically, Ajarn Muhammad will explain to the audients
how corporate governance affects accounting practices in southeast Asia.
Each of the lecturers is given a session to share their knowledge and experience. The expected
participant in each session is 100 Accounting students (bachelor and master’s programs) from the three universities.
Prof. Noriza, Dr Wuri, and Ajarn Muhammad are planning to do more collaborative activities to facilitate quality Accounting education
and research in the region.
